I have a needle-in-a-haystack search question. A relative, Sophia Hill b. 1867 in Weisburg, Dearborn Co. was last listed in the Dearborn County census in 1880 when she was 12. Family oral history has her leaving on a trip (running away???) with a man named _____ Cooper at some point but she NEVER RETURNED and never again made contact with the family. Does anyone with Cooper family history have any information about this person? Rikard Hill Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Hello Dan, Yes, I did receive it. I sent a reply, I guess you didn't get it. For some reason I have a hard time sending emails to Road Runner accounts. I can receive them, but sometimes can't send them. Thank you so much for the map. I really appreciated getting it. I am sorry you didn't receive my response until now. I was so excited to receive such a nice map. My husband actually toured the Morgan Rd. area the other day. It was raining and he didn't have his camera with him. A wagon wheel road still exist there. My Benjamin Morgan supposedly helped build one that connected to the Logan cross roads. It's probably the same one. I plan on going back and taking pictures and video. I will send them to you when I do. I don't live far away from there. Hop you get my response! Now, my email is being held for review! Maybe, because I responded with the attachment you sent me. Thanks Again! Thanks! Susan

    1. [INDEARBO] Searching for my Scott Connections in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: DScott4885 Surnames: Scott, Hannah Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.dearborn/4218/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am trying to find Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio Scott connections, in hopes of, finding my GG Grandfather's parents, siblings, and cousins. My GG Grandfather, John B. Scott has been stated as being born in Kentucky and Ohio. In the 1850 and 1860 Census has him born 1811 in Kentucky and 1870 Census has him born 1807 in Ohio. He is not found in 1880 Census. This leads me to believe he died between 1870-1880. His wife, Mary Hannah-Scott was listed as Widowed in 1880 Census and is living with daughter and son-in-law. My father always told me my GG Grandfather was from Ohio. He was from Rising Sun; which, is in Indiana now. At one time, Rising Sun was part of Ohio State. I am wondering, if at one time, this may have also, been a part of Kentucky State. Maybe, this is why he is listed as being born in Ohio and Kentucky. There is a small section between Rising Sun and Cincinnati that is now Kentucky. So I am searching Dearborn County, Indiana, Ohio County, Indiana, Switzerland County, Indiana, Hamilton County, Ohio, Montgomery County, Ohio, Miami County, Ohio, Vinton County, Ohio, Boone County, Kentucky, Kenton County, Kentucky, Campbell County, Kentucky, Allen County, Kentucky, and Warren County, Kentucky in search of Scott relatives. I am also, wondering about Miami. My father mentioned Miami Tribe my GG Grandfather belonged to. He is not listed on any Dawes Rolls. I have searched there, as well. There is Miamitown outside Cincinnati, Ohio in Hamilton County and there is a Miamisburg, Ohio outside of Dayton in Montgomery County and then there is Miami County above Dayton, Ohio. I have even heard stories of Seminole's from Miami, Florida. I have another Scott family friend where her family is from Vinton County, Ohio. Haven't been able to connect the two families, yet. Also, there is a story from a cousin that said my GG Grandfather was in Kentucky and boarded a train near what is present day Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky and came to Indiana before his marriage to Mary Hannah in 1838. I do not know exact time line. I do know of another family who's ancestry was on the same train. They died in route to Indiana and didn't make it. So, I know the story is true. Now, for what reason he w! as in that location; I do not know. It may even be possible that he was born in the Warren County, Kentucky area. Also, he may have had a 1st marriage with Mary and John not being married until 1838 in Dearborn County, Indiana. John would have been 27-31 years of age and Mary would have been 24 years old. Mary could have even had a 1st marriage. I don't know. My GG Grandmother Mary Hannah was born in Pennsylvania in 1814. Her parents are listed as being born in Delaware. I have been unable to locate any of her family either. Also, I have found a James Scott living with John and Mary in 1870 Census. I do not know, if this is a son, nephew, or cousin. This is the only Census I have found him. Any help or suggestions would gratefully be received in helping solve the mystery of finding my GG Grandparent's family. Email me at debby_scott@yahoo.com. Thank you for any help. Debby Scott Descendants of John B. Scott Generation No. 1 1. JOHN B.2 SCOTT (UNKNOWN [FATHER OF JOHN B. His wife Mary is living with daughter in 1880 listed as widowed. Location Notes 1: My father told me our line of Scott's are related to Scott's in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio, North/South Carolina, Pennslyvania, and possibly Virginia. Location Notes 1b: Scott families Migrated from Pennsylvania & the Carolina's to Kentucky. Some stayed in Kentucky; others went to Ohio, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Indiana. Location Notes 2: Bef. 1838, A cousin said John boarded a train near present day Warren County, Bowling Green, KY and came to Indiana. Location Notes 3: There is a town Scottsville in Allen County, Kentucky near Owensboro, Kentucky NOTE: John middle name maybe "Bruce". It is possible, since we have two other Bruce's. My brother's name is Bruce and his son's middle name is Bruce. It would stand to reason that my dad could have named him after his GG Grandfather's middle name of Bruce.
