He was 22 years old, his wife was between the ages of 16 and 26. Three of his sons were John, Goerge, and Washington. Washington was born in 1814 when John was 16 years old, and I beleive Washington was the oldest of his five sons. John is still in Colerain Ohio in 1830, but died in Dearborne Indiana in 1834. In 1840 three of his sons are living back in Colerain Ohio and possible a fourth. I have a possible name four his fourth son, David, but no idea about the name of the fifth son. Washington is my g-g-g grandfather. I do not have a name for John's wife, however, can you tell me where you found the information on the two wives? Thanks Megan

    1. [INDEARBO] GORDON family in Dearborn or Union Co., IN, (1807-1821)
    2. Judy Gordon
    3. I am searching for information (land, birth, marriage, military, death, etc. records) on the James GORDON Sr. family who moved from NC to OH in 1806, and to Dearborn Co. (or possibly now Union Co.), IN, area in 1807, remaining until 1821, when they moved to Putnam Co. I was wondering if the old, pre-Union Co. records are kept in Dearborn or in Union Co.? Also, are the mouths of the Kentucky and Miami Rivers [see Item 6 below] located anywhere near Liberty? I am especially interested in finding out which company or regiment James GORDON Sr. served with during the War of 1812. I have the following quotes regarding James and/or his son James Smith GORDON: 1. [James Smith Gordon's] parents [James and Mary Gordon] moved from North Carolina to Ohio in 1806, and from there to Indiana in the following year [1807]. [I did not find James Gordon in the 1807 Indiana Territory Census for Dearborn Co.] 2. [James Gordon Sr.] served in the War of 1812 ... [I have a list of 34 James Gordons serving in the War of 1812. I need to narrow down my search.] 3. James Smith Gordon was born July 14, 1814, in Dearborn County, Indiana, two years before the territory was admitted as a state. He was the son of James and Mary Gordon and the youngest of a family of five children, having had two brothers and two sisters. 4. The deceased [James Smith Gordon, son of James Gordon Sr.] was ... born near Liberty, Indiana, July 14, 1814. 5. Mr. [James Smith] Gordon was born in what is now Union County, near Liberty, July 14, 1814. He was the son of James and Mary Gordon ... 6. ... James Gordon [Sr.] whose native state was North Carolina, but who had lived for a time in the southeastern part of the state [Indiana], in the strip which lay between the mouths of the Kentucky and the Miami Rivers. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, especially with the companies or regiments serving in the War of 1812, from that part of Indiana Territory. Judy Gordon ggg granddaughter of James Gordon Sr.

The family group is: Charles & Jennie (Elliott), sons James, Alva, Charles, and daughters Nellie & Eva. I've located them in the 1870 & 1880 census for Aurora, as well as the 1900 census. Charles was a carriage maker, and in 1900, they owned a farm. Alva married Jennie Lukens, moved to IL for a short while before moving to Los Angeles with William (their only child; my paternal grandfather). Apparently Eva was still living with Charles & Jennie when she was 22. The census list her occupation as "artist." Charles (Sr.) had a sister in Aurora; Susan (Fisk) Bailey, married to George. What I would like is any information on Eva Fisk, and the Elliott & Lukens families. Jennie Lukens was born in 1870 (IN); Jennie Elliott in 1844 (IN), and Eva Fisk in 1878 (IN). I'm especially interested in Eva's history! I know this is a lengthy post, but I'm trying to get in as much info as possible! Thanks for any help you can send my way!
