    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Sh.2ADI/1903 Message Board Post: A few years ago, a friend drove me on a "tour" of the Aurora area. One place was up a winding road to a hilltop where there were several buildings -- obviously associated to each other. There appeared to be more than one residence and some other buildings. It was a private area and my friend said we couldn't linger as there were "no tresspassing signs" as we started up the hill. As I recall, the entrance to the road up the hill was in Aurora proper....not out in the country. Can anyone tell me where I was and is it a private home? Thanks. Marilyn

Benjamin DRAKE married Hannah McCULLOUGH; he was on the early Tax List in Clark CO, KY 1792-'96. He bought a great deal of land in York TWP, IN and was a proprietor of Florence, IN. Ben died in 1820; ch: Nancy, Elizabeth, Sally, John, and maybe others. Jesse DRAKE m. Jane ...; he ran a tavern in Decatur CO until about 1845. He was with Ben in Clark CO, KY, 1794-'96; ch: John, Martha, Louisa, Benjamin, Dillard and possibly another son whose name I don't know and maybe others. Jesse and his children, John, Martha (who married Wm. ROSS), and Benjamin all lived near each other either in or near Greensburg, Decatur CO, IN from Dec. 1821 until about 1845. They owned land south of Yorkville and are buried at St. Martin's Cemetery. Their son, John Nicholas Feuerstein, was born 15 March 1847, married Anna Magdalen Baus (or Bouse or Bows) (born 18 Mar 1856) on 14 Nov 1877, and later moved to Leshara, Nebr. Would like to find more on Anna Baus' family. I have that her father was John Baus and her mother was Mary Olinger, but no other information on them. The Indiana Marriage Index shows that John "Bows" married Mary Olinger on 3 Nov 1846 in Dearborn County. Would like to find their birth and death dates and any other info. Some info on Johannes Feuerstein is posted at www.winker.net. Tim Winker [email protected]

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: ARMSTRONG AND DOUGLAS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Sh.2ADI/1900 Message Board Post: William Douglas, Ohio born, married Lucinda Armstrong (b. 1816) in 1843 in Evansville. Lucinda was born likely in North Bend/Cleves or possibly Reily township, Butler Co.OH. Currently, I believe her parents were Stephen and Ruth Armstrong but I don't know and would like to learn. I believe her Armstrong brothers were Cyrus (b.1805), Aaron (b. 1807), Uel (b.1814) and Stephen (b. 1818 North Bend). Can't prove all relations yet. Methodists generally. The Armstrong males were mostly chair and cabinet makers around City of Lawrenceburgh , later Cyrus, et al, would form Armstrong Furniture Co, of Evansville and Memphis. Lucinda Douglas, widow, lived in Cyrus household in 1860 with her children Aaron, Uel, Arabella and Kate with all kids Indiana born except Arabella, b. 1850, in KY. Lucinda's spouse, William, apparently died after 1853. Where? Where did they live until the mid 1850's? Most all lived in Evansville in later decades. Need help from a history detective who has worked the Lawrenceburgh, North Bend, Reily/Butler circuit, ultimately to prove who the parents of these Armstrong's were. Stephen and Ruth, the suspected parents, sold their BLM land in Reily township in 1813, likely then moved back over to North Bend/Cleves and Stephen likely died about 1819 with only Ruth showing up as head of household in 1820 and 1830. Hamilton County probate files mostly destroyed. All aid will be highly appreciated.

Josiah's son, my dad (Frank C. Fuller b.1903) talked about a photo of an Indian he'd seen in the family Bible–he was sure that one of our direct relatives had married an American Indian. My dad's grandmother was known throughout the area as a natural/homeopathic healer, so I've always wondered if she was American Indian. I'm a complete beginner on this geneology so would love to learn anything I can.

    1. [INDEARBO] Joseph EDWARDS
    2. Joseph EDWARDS, born 1779, was on the Hamilton Co. OH 1840 census. We think he might have moved to Dearborn Co. after that time. He does not appear on the 1850 census, and we think it possible he died in Dearborn Co. We know that his son Joseph and his family were listed on the 1840 census, but they moved back to Hamilton Co. by 1850. Is there a will for Joseph EDWARDS in the 1840s and is there a death notice for him? Any information you can give will be greatly appreciated. Mildred Greenstreet

On the menu part, they will also print out your genealogy for you. If you are from the Guilford line -- your ancestor was (Lt.) Jacob Blasdel who settled there with his wife Ruth Morse. The Lt. has been disproven but the sign still says it is so...no matter. The immigrant Ralf Blasdel came to Maine in 1635. The Blaisdell Assoc. probably knows all about your particular line. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Sh.2ADI/1802.2.1.1.1.2 Message Board Post: Hi, I didn't mean to cause confusion. I just quickly looked up all references to Armstrong in the North Bend book, and then because of a mention of Dearborn Co. I pulled out my History of Dearborn and Ohio Counties, Indiana 1885, and also the Indiana Gore book, and sent along notes on several items I found there, too, on Armstrongs. The Margaret Armstrong info is from Dearborn & Ohio Co. History, page 978 in the biographical sketch on Benjamin Wilson, Jr., and I will quote it here, to clear things up: "Benjamin Wilson, Jr., farmer, Washington Township, is a native of Kentucky, and was born May 20, 1804. His parents, Benjamin and Margaret (Armstrong) Wilson, were born in Pennsylvania, the father, February 15, 1771; mother April 1771. They were married February 15, 1792, and moved to Kentucky in 1795, and to this township in 1805. He was a farmer all his life. The mother died in April 1843; father, July 29, 1861..." I don't have any connection to these families, and apologize if I've lead anyone astray by being overzealous in my effort to help. I don't know if this info is right or wrong...I'm quoting from printed material.

    1. [INDEARBO] RUTH ARMSTRONG OF EARLY LAWRENCEBURGH CITY
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: ARMSTRONG, NORRIS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Sh.2ADI/1896 Message Board Post: There was a Ruth Armstrong, head of household, in Miami township of Hamilton Co. OH in 1820. I've got to presume she was a widow, rather than a spinster head of household. Cleves was platted in late 1818 from part of North Bend and by 1830 Ruth was a head of household in Cleves. I had a ggggf Stephen Armstrong born in early 1818 in North Bend, so that part of North Bend might subsequently have been within Cleves corporate limits and I'm speculating Ruth was perhaps his mother, and possibly also the mother of Cyrus Armstrong. Cyrus, by now about 25, was a head of household in Cleves in 1830 also. Cyrus appears in Lawrenceburgh City in Dearborn in 1840, and again in 1850 and 1860. In 1850 it shows a Ruth Armstrong in Cyrus household, age 11, New Jersey birth. I think it was really age 71, a transcription error, but I don't have the Census source document at hand. Next I show a Ruth Armstrong death in Evansville, IN in 1864, age 85, born in PA, buried in the same Oak Hil! l cemetery as Cyrus and all his later family. Cyrus had relocated to Evansville sometime after 1861. No sign of Ruth in the 1860 census yet found, unfortunately. NJ and PA are close. Perhaps one became part of the other in her 1779 birth era and place of birth. Going back further, I find a Ruth Norris marriage in Hamilton Co, OH in Feb. 1811 to Nathaniel Armstrong. I'm thinking this is the one who shows up a widow in the 1820 Miami township of Hamilton Co. To thicken the soup, my Stephen Armstrong relocated to Evansville by 1839, but his census data shows his mother to have been born in NC, father in IRE. He, and Cyrus, and some Cyrus son's, Uel and Jesse, were all furniture makers. Stephen lived either in Evansville, Vanderburgh Co or Warrick Co. most of his later life, finally in Pike Co. IN. I think they are all related but I can't yet prove how. Pinpointing Ruth, and possibly Nathaniel might be the proof. Who can research this single or set of Ruth Armstrong's with possible Nathaniel Armstrong for me and make heads or tails of it.
