Wrote to Mt. Tabor (Methodist Church) and never received reply back, even included envelope/stamped. Family has told me that our Samuel Smith and wife Alcy/Elcy Jane (Walker) buried there also. Samuel is son of Jesse, (believe) is son of Ralph Smith and Esther. Is this all the names that you were able to obtain from Mt. Tabor? If not could you recommend a way of me finding more names without going through the church. Do you have a picture of this church/burial grounds that you wouldn't mind emailing me? Would appreciate your help. [email protected] Thanks a bunch for posting this message. Pam in Oklahoma

Surnames: Pearce, Yates, Waters, Jacobus, Decker Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Sh.2ADI/1914 Message Board Post: Need assistance with lookups re Gibson Cem., Bright, IN or a proper email address (not a shortcut) for someone to do lookup in Gibson Cem. Inscription List. Laurenceburg Library can't copy Gibson List as it is too long. Have learned a woman named Florence Grubbs of near Harrison, OH indicated in a note to my relative in 1966-67 that she would go to Bright (Gibson) Cem. and look up dates on tombstones and send info on her grandfather's family re the history of our Pearce family. It does not appear this was done. Pearces would have been either Ellis, Albert or Eliz Kensel Pearce. Eli married Bridget ? and his children: Sarah Jane, Walter, Alfred, Willie, John and Amanda. Amanda married Warren Yates in Covington, KY in 1876, his son Alfred was a witness; don't know where they all grew up. Ellis had single dau. Dollie and Calvin who had a dau. Lillie who married Frank Waters, and a son Ross. They may have lived on the OH side of the line. Don't know about the brother A! lbert. Also interested in any Jacobus or Decker family on the list. Thank you. Sharon [email protected]

    2. In a message dated 7/28/2003 11:01:39 AM Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes: <<One place was up a winding road to a hilltop where there were several buildings -- obviously associated to each other. >> Sounds like VeraStau (not sure I am spelling that right -- believe it is French for something -- Spring and Fall maybe?). Was there a beautiful view across the Ohio River into KY? If so, this is privately owned. However, I have had the privilege of being up there on several occasions. At one point part of it was a Glenmary Brothers retreat home. There is one house and a stable not too far into the property, but if you continue back the road there are several other buildings. I can no longer remember the name of the lady who lived in the front home -- no wait it has just come to me -- I think her name was Mrs. O'Brien. However she was elderly when I was there and that is probably 30 years ago. She has certainly passed on by now. I am not sure who you could contact about this property, but I think the name O'Brien and VeraStau (however, you spell it) should help. Regards, Cathy McGuire

    3. Marilyn, My guess is that you visited Veraestau on Dutch Hollow Road (the extension to Market St. in Aurora). One place was up a winding road to a hilltop where there were several buildings -- obviously associated to each other. There appeared to be more than one residence and some other buildings. It was a private area and my friend said we couldn't linger as there were "no tresspassing signs" as we started up the hill. As I recall, the entrance to the road up the hill was in Aurora proper....not out in the country. Can anyone tell me where I was and is it a private home? Her daughters were Irene Fitzpatrick and Ruth Heim. I don't know which was in Lawrenceburg with mother living with her, or if mother was in a nursing home. Irene's obit was in the 26 Jan, 1991 Cincinnati Enquirer, so I assume one of the daughters lived in Cincinnati. Irene had 2 children, 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren survive her. None named, other than the two daughters. Could someone check the obits for those days in the Lawrenceburg newspaper and see if any other information, more local, is listed for Irene Gladwish? Shirley Maynard Hampton, VA

I am trying to fill in the blanks and hopefully find someone who knows something about the "ancestors". I come from the maternal side of William's family. Martha (Patsy) Warner was the sister of my gr.gr.grandfather, John Warner who married Louisa Douglass. Martha also had a brother James, who married Sarah Cousins. Martha, John, James, Isreal, Jehiel, Margaret Ann, Eunice and Rachel were all children of Stephen Warner and his wife DebbyAnn. After DebbyAnn died, Stephen married Polly Lenover and had more children. I have added all of William's children that you gave to my database, and would be pleased if you have anymore information on the children and grandchildren of Abner Walden and his wife Martha (Patsy) Warner. Thanks again. Marilyn
