    1. [INDEARBO] Regarding Baptismal Records of St. John Church, Dover, DearbornCty
    2. Recently through this website, I discovered Catholic Research in Indiana. I was able to find the Baptismal Records of St. John Church, Dover, Dearborn County. One of the records listed my great uncles' births but their surname was spelled incorrectly. Understandable as the parents were from Ireland probably with a heavy brogue and the pastor was German. The listing was as followings. McKally, Jacob and Francis twins born to John McKally and Mary Ann Harvey on May 26, 1861, baptized on May 27, 1861. Godparents for Jacob were Dennis McKally and Elizabeth O'Reilly. Francis' godparents were Edward Kelly and Elizabeth McKalley. The correct name of the parents is John McCullough and Mary Ann Harvey . God-parents correct names are Dennis McCullough (grandfather) and Elizabeth McCullough, the twins grandmother. One of the other children is listed in this document, my grandmother Helen (called Ellen) McCullough daughter of John McCullough and Mary Anna Harvey. She was born on August 2, 1865 and baptized on August 13, 1865. There are several other children of John McCullough and Mary Ann Harvey listed as baptized at St. John the Baptist Catholic church in the mid 1800s. One of the pastors during that time was Rev. Andrew Bennet who was Mary Ann Harvey's uncle. Is there a way a correction could be made on the twins surnames. Thank you for all the information you present to the many members of [email protected] Mary Butler Sartori

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Sh.2ADI/1922.1 Message Board Post: Don...I have no direct knowledge of the answer to "Which cemetery is SP11?". However, I had a thought that "11" might refer to Section 11 in Sparta Township. This township section lies between Moores Hill on the west and Sparta on the east and is bounded on the south by Stanper Rd. and a part of Rummel Rd. The northern boundary of Section 11 is on a line running east from the intersection of Biteman Rd and IN 350. Are any of the cemeteries on your map in this area? Rik Hill

I don't know the answer, but I grew up in Dearborn County and never heard of a Catholic Church in Dillsboro. I suspect that they went to St. Mary's in Aurora. If someone knows differently, please correct me. However, if you don't find a church there, try St. Mary's. Regards, Cathy
