    1. Re: MOORE-Brazil/Jackson, Clay Co, IN
    2. There where a couple of Moore families in Clay co. fairly early. David K. Moore born in Kentucky who came to Clay co. about 1835. He is the son of Jacob Moore of Posey twp. David married Dorinda McIntosh. Their children that I have listed are Samuel, Franklin, David E., Ethel m. Underwood, Eliza m. Wegner, Bertha m. Bell, Leatha m. Suster and Flora with no marriage listed. Jacob himself lived a long life and had several children of shich Hannah m. Loveall and Nancy Ann m. Patton were life long residents of Clay co. His other children lived in other counties or later moved to other states. Thomas of Dubois co., George W. of Lawrence co., and Reuben P. of Owen co later to Jo Davies co Ill. According to the Clay co history book David moved to Mason Co. Ill. and his sister Margret m, Widner moved to Douglas co. and unknown daughter who married a Turner lived in Tazewell co.Ill, His daughter Sarah Jane m. Mills and son Jocob Jackson Moore went with their families to Missouri and from there by wagon train to Oregon. Further there is a seperate Thomas L. Moore from Kentucky born about 1798. He was in Clay by 1838 in Jackson twp. I know some about his family as I believe he is related to my Zachariah born about 1824 in Kentucky. Thomas L. had Louisa m. Cox, John (b. 1839) and Eli(1853), Enos(1833), Luviey(1835), Job(1837). They also may have raised some grandchildren Gomery? Lousia and Luviey may be the same person as the birth dates are close. There is also a little later an Isaac Moore family but they are from Ohio and there is no evidence of any relationship to the Kentucky Moores. Now how Levi ties into these I don't know I suspect he was a brother or a cousin to one or the other branches. I am currently trying to sort out who was who to find where Zachariah ties in. terri
