Fred, The problem is not your printer! The information is not of high enough resolution [no detail]. JPG is not the best compression for text. Can you convert to .gif ? That format does a better job of compressing B&W line and drawings. Otherwise, convert to B&W .jpg and increase the resolution of the scan. I'm no expert but have spent a lot of time trying to compress photos and drawings to go into PowerPoint presentations and this is what I have gleaned from that effort. Wayne Reed
