I am doing research on the Smith families of Clay Co. as well. However, I have nothing on this Thomas J. Smith. Perhaps he was a grandson of one of Oliver's brothers, or a cousins' line. I have not run all the lines on the Smith family yet. There seems to be other Smith's that are not connected to our family.
