Hello Heather, I don't have any connection to your family but I enjoyed your description of your trip. And how I envy you. All my parents and grandparents have died and I am on my own in researching my and my husband's family. How I wish I had listened more closely to my grandparents stories. In case you haven't done so already, be sure to get as many of their stories on audio tape or even better video tape. That way you not only have the information but you can go back and listen for information you may have missed or didn't connect to anything at the time. And you will have their voice and personality to enjoy and to share with your children in the years to come. Make the most of the time you have with your parents and grandparents (it sounds like you already are); alas as with childhood, it passes too quickly.
