Mr. Fernsel served as assessor of Clay county for several years. He was also elected trustee of Sugar Ridge township for one term and was a member of the township advisory board for a number of years. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Martin Fernsel, of Ashboro; Monroe Fernsel, who lives on the home place; Mrs. Elijah Robinson, of Center Point, and Mrs. Sam Tribble, of Worthington. Funeral services will be held at the Ashboro church at 10 o'clock Sunday morning, with burial in the Grimes cemetery.
