Mass his wife of Clay County in the State of Indiana, convey and warrant (except the Dower __ Hanna Tribble who has released to wit her dower on the South East quarter of the North East quarter of Section Sixteen Township Eleven Range Six west and has taken the entire dower of the Land on the South West quarter of the North East quarter Section Sixteen Township Eleven Range Six West) to Phillip Fernsel of Clay County in the State of Indiana, for the sum of ___ Hundred and Sixty two dollars & fifty cents the following Real Estate situated in Clay County in the State of Indiana, to wit: A part of the South West quarter of the North East quarter Section Sixteen Township Eleven of Range Six west. Commencing at the North West ___ of Said land running thence South on the line to centre of the Bowling Green and Terre Haute State Road Thence along the centre of said road to the East line __said last described land. Thence! North on the line to the North East corner thence west on the line to the place of beginning supposed to contain Twenty acres the same more or less. In Witness whereof the said George Mc Mass and Martha E. Mass, his wife, have hereunto set their hands and Seals this the Seventh day of March 1863. Note: The handwriting on this record makes the name look like "Mass" but is it actually "Moss"?
