Fernsel, 83 years old, better known as Polly Fernsel, of 18 East Kruzan Street, died at the Clay County Hospital at 5:30 o'clock this morning of apoplexy, with which she was stricken ten days ago. Miss Fernsel was born in Sugar Ridge Township, Clay County, a daughter of Philip and Catherine Fernsel, and had resided in Sugar Ridge Township and Brazil, all her life. The log cabin in which she was born was moved some years ago to Forest Park to house the Clay County Historical Society, pioneer home museum. Miss Fernsel was a member of the Centerpoint Methodist Church. She was the last member of one of Clay County's pioneer families and is survived only by three nephews, Harry Hinote of Terre Haute and Carl Hinote and William Hinote of Sugar Ridge Township, and two nieces, Mrs. Catherine Adams of Los Angeles and Mrs. Ella B. Mercer of Landover, Md. The bo! dy was taken to the Rentschler Funeral Home at Centerpoint.
