Hi, It looks as though many are interested in the Cemetery Books published by the Clay County Genealogical Society so I will offer some information here that may be helpful. Laura, the book that you used at the Brazil Public Library is the Master Cemetery Index. Indeed, that does not give any more information than the cemetery code. We have, however, published 3 complete Township cemetery books to date and the 4th one is at the printer's now and will be available in a couple of weeks. Two more Townships have been finished and are being proofed and corrected and will be available very soon. These books contain the following information (if available) for EACH person: Surname, Given Name, Birth, Death, Age (at death), Cemetery, and Remarks, which includes any other helpful information from the stone, such as parents' names, Military info, husband or wife's name, marriage date, etc. If you are interested in ordering, these are the Townships that are presently available: Posey Township $15.00 + $3.00 shipping Sugar Ridge Township $12.50 + $3.00 shipping Perry Township $10.00 + $3.00 shipping Cass Township is currently being printed but I am not sure of the cost yet. Next to be published are Harrison and Van Buren Townships. If you are interested in buying any of the above available publications, you may send payment and order to: Clay County Genealogical Society, Inc PO Box 56 Center Point, IN 47840-0056 If you have questions about Cass Twp. Cemetery book cost or what cemeteries are included in each book, you may e-mail me or the society at: ccgslib@ticz.com or call us during our business hours Mon., Wed, or Sat 1-4 p.m. Phone: 812-835-5005 Hope this helps clear up any questions, but I will be glad to answer any others.
