Apparently, according to Trinity400, there is a second line of Carpenters, Eli and his folks from NC, who became relatives of the George Carpenter line (Winfield Scott, Laura, etc.) from PA through marriage. They are distant enough that I have no record of them, but they seem to be in the same cemetery.
