They came from Ireland, family head is Joseph Latty(Latta) and Susannah. who moved to Owen Co., IN.- Two of their children were pioneers in Owen Co., bought land in Franklin Twnsp, back in 1817 helped forge the town of Freedom, served on the first School board, and helped with construction of roads in Owen Co., IN- My ancestor John Latta d. abt 1829, his wife remarried in 1831 in Vigo Co., IN.8 children in this family.
