John MOORE and wife Mary MOORE are believed to be the parents of Dr. Sewell MOORE and his brother Dr. Charles MOORE. In 1850, Sewell & Charles are on the Clay Co., Indiana Census. John and Mary are on the 1850 HENDRICKS Co., Indiana census, along with a Mary Moore, age 18. Next door to them is a Moore family that includes a SEWELL MOORE, age 5. Married Artemicia "Artimecy" (Unknown), who was born abt 1822 -- census says MO, but may be Ohio. She died 1857. CHILDREN OF SEWELL & ARTIMECY: 1. Harbin H. MOORE b Oct. 30, 1843 MO. Wife may be Letissia/Letittia. No further information. 2. Calvin B. MOORE b Oct. 1840 MO and died Nov. 27, 1876 Clay Co. Occupation: Druggist. He married Zenita/Jenita Carolyn "Carrie" REYNOLDS Aug. 1861 Clay Co. Both buried Poland Chapel Cem. She was b 1839 Owen Co., IN. Her parents were Solomon REYNOLDS and Thirzia/Thursey WRIGHT.
