There is sketchy information on these that moved to Indiana. I certainly will give you all of this ged.com it is about 1500 names that go back to Ireland. It does incompass the family of Clark, Jones, McCoy, Baskin, and many others. Second I would like Arthur Smith's parents since I am also searching on Smith's of Vigo and Clay Co., IN My Smith line goes back to J. R, Smith of Cloverland who came to Clay Co from NH was in Ontario Canada, then to Meigs Co., OH. Could there be a connection to this family. I realize that the Smiths were legion in Clay Co., IN. It was just a thought that he could be from this family. Muriel
Actually, I don't have any information on Arthur, yet. I need to go talk to my Grandma Smith, over in Brazil. I've been meaning to get over there, but never seem to have the time. I guess that this will be my excuse. When I talk to her, I'll have to ask her if she remembers her grandparents' names, which would help the situation a lot. As far as the Smith's in Clay County, saying that they were legion seems to be an understatement, because I'm trying to trace my genealogy on both my mother and father's sides, who were both from Clay County and have found at least four different (I hope) lines of Smith's along the way. If we find a connection to James Atkinson, I'll let you know. We'll see what we can find out.
