I'm brainstorming today. Or, grasping at straws :) Below is a partial census from the IN,Clay Co 1850 Census. With one family listed between them, William R. MOORE & James MOORE have the state of Kentucky in common. Later, James' dau. marries John MOORE (unk if related) The names James & Amos are used for John & Mary's son's. Also, both William & James are list in the IN, Clay 1860 Census and then again in the Illinois, Fulton Co, 1870 Census. Could William be father to James? and possibly David? David seems to remain in Clay Co after Wm & Jms leave. I am not familiar with Jackson Township, Clay Co. So any suggestions on where to look are appreciated. James & Sarah are listed below with an unnamed dau. In Sarah's obit in 1907 it is said that she had 7 children. Mary was the only child to survive to adulthood. Also, Sarah is said to be one of 13 children and was born in Henry Co., Kentucky. The obit has everything ... except a maiden name. I am thinking her family also moved to Clay Co, IN when she was a child and that she & James may have been married in that county. Is anyone related to William's other children?
