Muehler published in the Terre Haute Tribune, Sunday, 22 Nov 1936, page 2: BRAZIL, Ind., Nov 21 - Benjamin F. Muehler, prominent Chicago businessman and a former resident of Bowling Green, died Friday at his home at Chicago at the age of 70 years. Mr. Muehler was born at Bowling Green, but had made his home in Chicago for more than 40 years. He was treasurer and director of the Alex Friend Real Estate Corporation of Chicago, a well known real estate concern of that city. He was a son of the late Ernest Muehler, of Bowling Green, who served as county treasurer of Clay county from 1888 to 1892. The deceased is survived by the widow and one daughter, Mrs. Fred York, of Boston, Mass; also two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Aremlia Carroll of Phoenix, Ariz; Mrs. Phil A. Elkin of Bowling Green, Oscar Muehler of Bowling Green and Carl Muehler of Indianapolis. The remains will be brought to Clay county for burial, arriving Saturday afternoon, and will be taken to Rentachler funeral home at Centerpoint and later to the home of his sister, Mrs. P.A. Elk! in, at Bowling Green. Funeral services will be announced later.
