Hello Don: We have Lankfords connected to our Haughee/Hawhee family. Walker Lankford was married to Catherine Hawhee/Haughee. The name for our earliest relative in the 1820 census was spelled Haughee but most branches went to the Hawhee spelling except ours. John Walker Lankford was born in Kentucky in 1801 to Larkin Lankford. He married three times and married Catherine in 1840. Catherine had been married to a King. The spelling seems to go back and forth between Langford and Lankford. The family that you have found in the census is related but I don't yet know how. Catherine and Walker also had a son Sylvester.
