    3. I got a program that marks each one in your file with your name, called GEDmark. At least it will always show up that it came from you. Some of the information was personal and should never have been posted. Needless to say I was very upset with this. So I am very careful about what I share now. I think general information found or given to help possibly point someone in the right direction or jump start a brick in a wall is ok. I wouldn't recomend anyone adding information to any of their lines without verifying first. If I wanted my years of research on those sites, I would have placed it there. I'll be very careful what I put on this list, or any other list and would caution others to do the same. I received a lot of help in my research and I love helping others; but I am very cautious with who and what after that. > > Sharon Turner > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Bart Emanuel > To: INCLAY-L@rootsweb.com > Sent: Tuesday, January 25, 2005 6:26 AM > Subject: [INCLAY] Re: INCLAY-D Digest V05 #18 > > > > >I e-mailed two complete pages of county history to a lister on this > >message > >board. 3. These "marks" are easily removed. I would not be as far in my families genealogy if it were not for sharing. I just do not share personal, private info. or info that is less than 50 years old. 3. Joan, My mistake was in sharing everything. Living people ended up on the internet. Lesson learned though. I love helping people with their research and I have always shared what I have; just a little more selective now.
