I have the parents of Daniel MARKET born in 1846 in Indiana as Solomon and Salome. This is according to the 1860 census for Jackson twp in Clay co. Solomon is a farmer born about 1809 in North Carolina. Salome was born about 1813 in Ohio. The children (all born in Indiana) are Henry about 1839, John L. about 1844, Daniel and Catharine 1846. Travis in "History of Clay Co., Indiana" on p. 29 mentions that Solomon is also a cooper and that he lives on a farm called Idylwilde south of Hoosierville. Blanchard in his "History of Clay Co.," mentions that Henry MARKET was wounded while serving with the 71st Indiana in the civil war. There is also a John W. MARKETwho served with the 149th Indiana who might be related. Salome passed away by 1865 when Solomon married Jane MOORE on the 19th of January. Jane was Hannah Jane ANTRIM the widow of Zachariah MOORE. By 1880 they had moved to Anderson twp, Clark Co., Illinois. John and Daniel where living with their father as was stepsons Henry and Aden MOORE. "Jane" and Solomon had a son William possibly born in 1876 in Indiana. (I say possibly since the dates don't correspond with the know information) Hannah passed away in 1907 in Marshall Illinois (Clark Co.) of TB. I am told that that is the same illness that took Solomon's life in 1891. By the way, Henry married a Catharine SEIGLE in 1861. Don't know if you needed any of this. Terri
