RIPPEL Jr. Charles was born about 1889 in Missouri to Charles Augustus RIPPEL Sr.(Gus)and Sarah A. HIATT, I believe. The two known siblings are John A. RIPPEL Sr. and Robert W. RIPPEL (Bobby). The RIPPEL family were showmen for years and had a circus named the RIPPEL Bros. Show. The circus wintered in Indiana, (various towns, including Brazil, Clay Co.) for several years in the early 20th century. They may have also worked for other traveling groups. This makes them hard to track down. Known locations: 1890s St. Joseph,Buchanan Co., Missouri 1910 census Brazil, Clay Co., Indiana (before this they were traveling in Indiana and elsewhere.) 1920 census Taylor Magesterial Dist., Orange Co., Virginia (Charles Jr. and family are found living with another show family, the LEEs) 1930 census Iron City,Seminole Co., Georgia (Charles Jr. and family, still listed as "Showman") Wives on the census are listed as Mabel and Margaret. Children listed are: Violet, Virginia, Lovella B., and William A. If any of this sounds familiar, please contact me. My husband has not known much of his extended family. I can provide some additional clues about Charles A. Sr. (and other wives), John and Robert and families. We descend from John. Kathy REID RIPPEL

Surnames: Dwiggins, Ingram Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xh.2ADE/2034 Message Board Post: I am a retired Hoosier from Madison County residing in the Philippines with my Filipino wife. We are seeking family and military information about servicemen from your county killed in the South Pacific during World War II. There are 17,206 Americans buried here and thousands more that are missing or buried at sea and are honored on the “Tablets of the Missing”. Please visit our website to see the beautiful memorial located in Manila, Philippines. http://fizkid.tripod.com/ My wife and I visited the cemetery as visitors and left with a mission in our heart. We have been taking photographs of the graves of the Indiana servicemen buried here and have been uniting them (at no charge) with their family members in Indiana and across the United States. To receive the photo of your family member all you need is a working email address. We do not send them to regular mailing addresses due to the costs. Please help us find the families of the men that might still be living. If you wish to help us we will be pleased to add your name to our ACKNOWLEDGMENT page on the website. The obituaries usually did not appear till to three months after the death date. If you know of a serviceman that is not listed or reside in another county and wish to have other lists please send a note to us. Zenas5@yahoo.com Attached in your preference of PDF or Miscrosoft Excel is the list of names including the servicemen from your county that are honored at the Manila American Cemetery Memorial. 2. Mary, Caseyville and Diamond are one in the same. My grandparents lived there, but when they got a post office someone previaled with name Diamond. Old timers still call it Caseyville. The records of the Catholic Church in Diamond are in the Morman library system and I have some of them. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xh.2ADE/2033 Message Board Post: Web site update 3/11/05 http://www.historic-atlas-series.com/ The Historic Atlas Series has been updated to include township and precinct level atlases from Pennsylvania and Kentucky. By popular request, we are currently digitizing more of these kinds of atlas and map data, and will be adding more in the coming weeks. Kentucky: http://www.historic-atlas-series.com/ky_map/ky_index.html Pennsylvania: http://www.historic-atlas-series.com/pa_map/pa_index.html At the present, atlas CD's are offered from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Missouri, West Virginia and Virginia will be added later this year so please feel free to check back often. The Historic Atlas Series may be an invaluable aid to Genealogists, Historians and researchers in search of 19th century places and place names. Many early property owners are indicated on the township and precinct level maps making these a great resource for identifying 19th century land ownership. Each atlas includes the following 19th century features: * roads, railroads and canals * cities, towns and villages * post offices and government sites * one-room schoolhouses, churches and cemeteries * rivers, streams and ferries * industrial sites, furnaces and mills * early homesteads and farms * land ownership - and much, much more Details on early maps are often difficult to read and these are no exception; however, by virtue of high resolution Adobe PDF formatting, map documents may be inspected at high levels of magnification without additional digital distortion; something that simply cannot be accomplished with paper reproductions and photocopies. The Adobe Acrobat Reader for MS Windows is needed to view, zoom, pan and print from the PDF map images, and is included free on each CD. No other software is necessary. The map data has been created and configured using the Adobe Acrobat Reader (6.0) for MS Windows (98, 98SE, XP, NT and 2000). The maps may be viewed in earlier versions of the software as well; however, optimum use of the data can be expected using the Adobe Reader 6.0 that is included on each CD. Best Regards, Rich Green Historic Atlas Series http://www.historic-atlas-series.com/
