Other than my ggrandfather Adam, Luceba's brother, I've only found information from a ggrandaughter of James Grey Stark's family, he's a brother to Adam and Luceba. James lived in Clay Co., Ind., also. Do you belong to the MyFamily site for Braxton Co. If not I could have an invitation sent to you, as you might be able to get some help from someone from the site. Sally

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/xh.2ADE/2026.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I believe that is who his parents are. I was just hoping for proof. John Fisher had a sister named Anna. She married Christopher Schrader. They had four children. Jim, John, Almiranda and Indianna. Indianna was my Great -Grandmother. John Fisher's Father John Fisher married Elizabeth Robison{sometimes spelled Robeson, Robinson) May 1, 1825 in Nicholas Va. He died before 1830--Elizabeth was a widow in the census. She married Edward W Ware Feb 6, 1834. They had three children--Andrew W-born 1836, Mary R-born 1837, Henry F born 1839. (Also in Nicholas Co Va. Elizabeth must have died about the time Henry was born. Edward W Ware married Elizabeth Long Oct 2, 1839 in Braxton Co Va. These counties are all in WV now. Do you have any info on John Fisher's daughter Rachiel? She is the only child I have found listed so far. Thanks

I don't have a death record for John. John was a son of John and Elizabeth Fisher and gs/o Jacob and Catherine Fisher. Information I was given was my gggrandmother Eleanor Starks, widow of Samuel Starks, and mother of Luceba, was living near John Fisher's one time step-father, Edward W. Ware, and John Fisher was living next door to him, with his aunt, who married a Cutlip and grandmother Catherine Fisher. This was for the 1850 Braxton County census. How are you related to John Fisher? Luceba would be my gg aunt, sister to my ggrandfather Adam Starks. Thanks, Sally

He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. We are seeking information regarding his military and civilian life and especially locate family members still living so we can send them the free photographs of his grave site and the beautiful memorial in the Philippines. I am a retired Hoosier from Madison County Indiana residing in the Philippines with my Filipino wife. We are seeking family and military information of nearly a thousand servicemen from Indiana killed in the South Pacific during World War II. There are 17,206 Americans buried here and thousands more that are missing or buried at sea and are honored on the “Tablets of the Missing”. Please visit our website to see the beautiful memorial located in Manila, Philippines. http://fizkid.tripod.com/ We visited the cemetery as visitors and left with a mission in our heart. We have been taking photographs of the graves of the Indiana servicemen buried here and have been uniting them (at no charge) with their family members in Indiana and across the United States. To receive the photo of your family member, neighbor or friend all you need is a working email address. Please help us find the families that might be still living of the men that gave their lives for our freedoms. Our project is only successful because of teamwork and your contributions are noted on our website. If you wish to help us we will be pleased to add your name to our ACKNOWLEDGMENT page. The obituaries usually did not appear till to three months after the death date. These are the most helpful in finding the families. If you are not a genealogist you can help by just picking up the telephone directory and find someone with the same last name and give them a call. It has worked many times.
