I received this info from another list and wanted to pass it on. Lynn Venafro On August 1, New York State's first immigration processing center, Castle Garden, will celebrate its 150th birthday. To commemorate this special occasion, the Battery Conservancy will launch its new website - CastleGarden.org - where researchers can do online searches of the expansive database of Castle Garden passenger lists! Castle Garden first opened its doors on August 1, 1855 and would see 8 million immigrants pass through her doors in her 34 year reign! The passenger lists pertaining to these 8 million immigrants are currently found at the National Archives, and they are *not* indexed. This monstrous project has been led by Dr. Ira Glazier, former Director of the Center for Migration Research at the Balch Institute for Ethnic Studies and Immigration. To learn more about the Castle Garden website, and to be notified of its official launch, please see: http://www.CastleGarden.org Truly a dream come true for all those whose ancestors passed through the Castle! ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs

Hello! I am Matt Mulligan from the Nathan Butler funeral Home in Worthington. WE have a piano which we wish to donate to an area church. It is an upright and in excellent condition with a lovely sound. It may need tuning after the move, however. We would move and install it free of charge, to a willing church Do you know of a congregation that would benefit from this? Thank You, Matt Mulligan toll free 1-877-584-3837 or www.forevercare.org -----Original Message----- From: Fred Finkbiner [mailto:fredf@claynet.com] Sent: Tuesday, August 02, 2005 2:04 PM To: INCLAY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [INCLAY] Zion United Church Of Christ Cemetery I think I have the missing photos problem fixed now. Is the William E Ulrich on the stone says Sept 2-6 1917 and then one the page says William E Ulrich aug 2-6 1917 should they both be sept 1917. I think what happened here is James A and Myra R Ulrich were married and had a son Wm E who died sept of 1917 and they put up a stone then when his mother (Myra) died in childbirth in 1919 they put Wm E and Myra and the infant son on one new stone. Then when James A died years later he was married to Florence who died in 1998. I do know James was married before he married Florence and they lived together for years. and he died in 1990 and she continued living there until she got sick and moved in with MY Brother and Sister in law during the winters and then moved back home in the summers. She died in 1998.
stone image is there. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Mary2gard@aol.com> To: <INCLAY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 02, 2005 1:27 PM Subject: Re: [INCLAY] Zion United Church Of Christ Cemetery > > In a message dated 8/2/2005 1:46:49 P.M. There is a problem in how the site links to the photos. When you get the page not found or moved message, go to the web address line for your browser. Change the last part of the address from DCP_####.JPG to Dcp_####.jpg , where the #### is the number for each picture. I've notified Joyce Smidley about the problem. Hi Mary, I finally made it to the Library; I asked if you were still in the area and was told that you had gone back to Georgia. What friendly, helpful people! They didn't have what I was searching for, but they sure tried to find something for me. Sorry I missed you; had hoped to get to meet you in person! I was there on the 27th. A new addition has been added to the Clay County InGenWeb site. Zion United Church Of Christ Cemetery donated by Will McAdams. This includes images of the markers as well as the inscription info. You will be able to see this was a big job on all that was involved with this project. Check it out at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~inclay/zioncem/ Fred
I would appreciate a look up on Gilly Ann Wood, abt 1823 - Married Amos Wools on Feb 2, 1823. If anyone would have a birth & death date and parents names. Also a look up on the census after 1890 after husband's death. Sorry I don't have much to go on. Thank you very much. Carol

Surnames: Fugate Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xh.2ADE/2066 Message Board Post: Robert B Fugate of Brazil, Indiana was killed January 28, 1945, while serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He is officially listed as missing or buried at sea and his name appears on the “Tablets of the Missing” at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. We are seeking information regarding his military and civilian life and especially to locate family members still living so we can send them the free photographs of the memorial. Remember, if he is missing or buried at sea THERE IS NO GRAVE but we will gladly send photos of the memorial to their families. I am a retired Hoosier from Madison County Indiana residing in the Philippines with my Filipino wife. We are seeking family and military information of nearly a thousand servicemen from Indiana killed in the South Pacific during World War II. There are 17,206 Americans buried here and thousands more that are missing or buried at sea and are honored on the “Tablets of the Missing”. Please visit our website to see the beautiful memorial located in Manila, Philippines. http://fizkid.tripod.com/ We visited the cemetery as visitors and left with a mission in our heart. We have been taking photographs of the graves of the Indiana servicemen buried here and have been uniting them (at no charge) with their family members in Indiana and across the United States. To receive the photo of your family member, neighbor or friend all you need is a working email address. Please help us find the families that might be still living of the men that gave their lives for our freedoms. Our project is only successful because of teamwork and your contributions are noted on our website. If you wish to help us we will be pleased to add your name to our ACKNOWLEDGMENT page. The obituaries usually did not appear till to three months after the death date. These are the most helpful in finding the families. If you are not a genealogist you can help by just picking up the telephone directory and find someone with the same last name and give them a call. It has worked many times. Classification: Cemetery Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xh.2ADE/2067 Message Board Post: Historic Atlas Of Indiana Counties (1876) http://www.historic-atlas-series.com/in_map/in_index.html The Zone 1-11 Atlas is a complete set of 1876 Indiana county maps. Each Zone consists of a series of 8 or more bordering county maps making up all 92 Indiana counties. Each Zone Atlas contains high resolution scanned images of vintage 19th century county maps that are presented in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). All (11) individual Indiana Zones also available separately. Each county map includes the following 19th century features: * roads, railroads and canals * cities, towns and villages * post offices and government sites * one-room schoolhouses, churches and cemeteries * rivers, streams and ferries * racetracks, fairgrounds and picnic groves * industrial sites, furnaces and mills * early homesteads and farms -and much more The Historic Atlas of Indiana series may be an invaluable aid to Genealogists, Historians and researchers in search of 19th century Indiana places and place names. Many 19th century sites no longer appear on contemporary maps and or have been obscured with time. The Historic Atlas Series CD's provide researchers with the means to quickly search 19th century maps when searching for extinct Indiana places. The Adobe Acrobat Reader for MS Windows is needed to view, zoom, pan and print from the PDF map images contained in this atlas; and is included free on each CD. No other software is necessary. The map data has been created and configured using Adobe Acrobat Reader (6.0) for MS Windows (98, 98SE, XP, NT and 2000). The maps may be viewed in earlier and the latest versions of the software as well; however, optimum use of the data can be expected using the Adobe Reader 6.0 that is included on this CD. Details on early maps are often difficult to read and these are no exception; however, by virtue of the Adobe PDF formatting, these documents may be inspected at high levels of magnification without additional digital distortion; something that simply cannot be accomplished with paper reproductions and photocopies. Follow the links below for other Atlas CD's available for the states of IA, IL, IN, KY, MI, MN, OH, PA and WI.
