This sounds like a great idea! At the risk of sounding uneducated in genealogy terms, what is "e-zine"? I've subscribed. iggy CHawk36650@aol.com wrote: > > Hi all- > I would like to invite you to sign up for a new free genealogy e-zine I'm > launching in January, "Climbing Your Hoosier Family Tree". All Listers, Nancee, I don't know! I received the message before I left Atlanta and I stupidly passed it on without checking it out. I am sorry! Mary
I put out some queries searching for my gr gr grandfather, Michael Myers. I didn't realize how common a name this was until I started searching a couple of years ago. I have had a few responses but have not been able to really connect to any information I have received. Thought I would add more information I have to see if anyone can connect. The Michael Myers I am searching for was born in Virginia, September 29, 1803, don't know who or where, when married but may have been married twice. Most of the information I have was passes on by my grandmother Sarah Ellen MYERS MUNCIE, who was Michael Myers granddaughter. I have children's names but now much on locations or dates. i. George Adam Myers, b Jan 1833, d Jan 21, 1846 ii Michael Myers (#2), b March 25, 1843, d Feb 15, 1928, buried Croys Creek Cemetery, Putnam County, Indiana, gr grandfather. iii. William Myers iv. John Myers (This could be John Marion Myers someone was searching for.) v. Joe Dan Myers vi Mary Myers vii. Katie Myers I have information that the first Michael Myers was born in Virginia. The second Michael Myers was born in Sullivan County, Indiana. John Myers was born in near Lewis, in Vigo County, Indiana. I found on the INCLAY website, information on line, a listing of the burials at Neidlinger Cemetery. There was a stone for the elder Michael Myers and the next one over was Adam Myers (George Adam), died January 21, 1846, 13 years, 8 days, s/o M & M Myers. This is the only clue I have to the mother who's first initial was evidently M also. I explored the list at the Indiana State Library of Indiana Marriages through 1850 and found the following Michael Myers: MYERS, MICHAEL Married DRISKILL, PEGGY Wash. Co. 08/15/1826 MYERS, MICHAEL HALL, SUSAN Wells Co. 03/15/1841 MYERS, MICHAEL LATHAM, CHARLOTTE Clay Co. 08/1846 MYERS, MICHAEL TEVEBOUGH, CATHARINE Martin Co. 07/17/1823 MYERS, MICHAEL KAUFFMAN, MARTHA Wayne Co. 08/13/1846 MYERS, MICHAEL F SOWERS, SARAH Fountain Co. 09/10/1848 MYERS, MICHAEL M BOOHER, MARTHA ANN Shelby Co. 07/04/1832 The only marrige shown above that occured before George Adam was born in the last one. If this is the same Michael Myers that married Charlotte Latham in Clay County, this would be his second marriage. Am wondering if anyone sees a connection to this family since I have furnished a little more information??? Harold "Wayne" Green

Moore in Posey twp of Clay county in the 1870 census. I don't know which of the older daughters is his mother as they didn't marry in Clay co. terri
Hi, I'm new to the Vigo County List and haven't posted this information anywhere for a long time so thought I would see if anyone can help me? The object of my search is one Michael Myers, said to have been born in Virginia, September 29, 1803. This is a gr gr grandfather. He had a son named Michael Myers, said to have been born in Sullivan County, March 25, 1843. This would be a gr grandfather. He also had children born near Lewis in Vigo County. They finally settled in Clay County. Both of the Michael Myers' listed above died and is buried in Clay County. Would sure like to find out more about these Myers families, spouse, siblings, etc. Trying to locate where in Virginia this family came from in Virginia, maybe locate his parents. The Miller name ?? I realize that it is a popular name but my Grandfather's mothers name was Sara and she may have been Sara J. Miller in Clay County Indiana. She had an affair with a Silas Jessup and I found her in the census records in Clay County with my Grandfathers name attached to it ........... not sure if this is really her or not trying to get a birth certificate to see. His birth year is supposed to be February 1896, not sure. Pat, I have NO idea whether this will mean anything to you, but there are Girtons in Marion County, IN. A William Girton was a vice-principal and/or dean of boys at Ben Davis HS in Indianapolis for roughly five eons. He was also head of the local Selective Service System - made him really popular with the guys, as you may imagine. All his PA announcements started with his booming voice raising the dead with, "PARDON ME..." Interesting character. Best of luck in your search. List, I'm searching for information on the family Pavelko. They lived in Carbon, Indiana from around 1881 to 1894. Steven Pavelko and Suzanne (Kacuinski) immigrated from the area now known as Slovakia. They brought with them a son Steven J. and had two more sons while living in Indiana, Valentine and John. John was born June 1, 1884. The information I am looking for is on Valentine Pavelko. He must have been born shortly after they arrived in Indiana and died between 1891 and 1894. If anyone has suggestions, information, or information on possible sources for birth or death records, as well as any other information on this family it would be appreciated. E-mail direct if desired: pavelko.kevin@mayo.edu
Hi- I am looking for any BERKHEISERS and their relatives. Several Berkheisers moved to Indiana from Pennsylvania in the early 1800s. Other possible names in the early family are Johannes and Elizabeth Beyer and Johannes and Susanna Miller. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Gregory
