    3. Did you ever get the 1840 census data? Curious as to your interest in Mary and James. I believe Mary to be the widow of Benjamin Phipps. I have been trying to figure out who the 1840 James is.... I have the 1840 data if you still need it. There is sketchy information on these that moved to Indiana. I certainly will give you all of this ged.com it is about 1500 names that go back to Ireland. It does incompass the family of Clark, Jones, McCoy, Baskin, and many others. Second I would like Arthur Smith's parents since I am also searching on Smith's of Vigo and Clay Co., IN My Smith line goes back to J. R, Smith of Cloverland who came to Clay Co from NH was in Ontario Canada, then to Meigs Co., OH. Could there be a connection to this family. I realize that the Smiths were legion in Clay Co., IN. It was just a thought that he could be from this family. Muriel

    3. Muriel, Well you helped me greatly on the Mostellers and it looks like you may be able to help on the other side of the family with the Atkinson line. I was the one that posted the query for information on Savannah Atkinson. The only information that I have concerning Savannah is that she was born January 13, 1875 in Asherville, IN and that she married Edward Fredrick Peter Carl Mitscher (b. 1873, Dudweiler, Germany). By the way, I don't know if I remembered to send a thank you, but I'm just about done going through the information that you sent concerning Myrtle Mosteller and her family. I very much appreciate it, it helped clear away a dead end on the family tree. Again, if there is any information that you would like in the way of descendants in the Mosteller/Smith line or, if we find a connection, in the Atkinson/Mitscher line, let me know and I will be more than happy to send any information that would help you. 1. Re: Carpenter Cemetery listings?
    2. Dale White
    3. Yes, as far as I know and I have lots of relatives buried there. Even those I didn't know are relatives of some of the others. El Carpenter who married Elizabeth Mosteller owned the land that became the cemetery. Most of those buried there are various family members that have been relation to them.(various lines) There is a lot of unmarked graves now, where the tombstones have been destroyed. As a child I remember small metal markers on some of the graves that the funeral home would put on after a burial and most of them are gone now. I won't begin to tell you that I know everyone buried there, for I don't but I do have a lot of names in my family that is. Elizabeth Mosteller's father and mother Joseph and Jemima Wright Mosteller are buried in the center of the cemetery (their tombstone torn down now) and several other Mostellers relation to Elizabeth are buried there, like a brothers child, etc. When I first started finding my relatives I knew very few in the cemetery, and the more information I found, the more I realized the connection to others in the cemetery. It is not a large cemetery by any means. I would suggest researching on some of the names closest to that individual and you may find the link that you need. They probably are related to someone else buried in that cemetery. 3. Those are my Carpenters, but I don't have a Kearns, at least not yet. It may be that all the Carpenters there are related, but some others are there as well. Describe your connections a little more fully. This is specific enough to take it off the list. -----Original Message----- From: bass103@juno.com <bass103@juno.com> To: INCLAY-L@rootsweb.com <INCLAY-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, May 14, 2000 10:35 AM Subject: Re: Carpenter Cemetery listings? >Are you sure everyone is related that is buried in that cemetery? >this could solve a big problem because there is a Kearns relative buried >there....this information could provide a crack in the brick wall my >sister is against.. thanks a lot... >On Sun, 14 May 2000 07:42:08 -0500 Dale White <dwhite@jdv.net> writes: >>Carpenter Cemetery is at Miami Gardens, just off of Hwy 40. near >>Cloverland. >> >>It is a family cemetery at one time owned by the Carpenter family. >>Everyone >>buried in this cemetery is family or a relative to a family member. >>There are >>a lot of unmarked graves, and since it is in the country has sustained >>a lot of >>damage from vandalism. 3. Carpenter Cemetery is at Miami Gardens, just off of Hwy 40. near Cloverland. It is a family cemetery at one time owned by the Carpenter family. Everyone buried in this cemetery is family or a relative to a family member. There are a lot of unmarked graves, and since it is in the country has sustained a lot of damage from vandalism. Easy to find. Muriel Trinity400@aol.com wrote: > Does anyone have the listings for the Carpenter Cemetery? Is it a large or > small cemetery?
