Hi Barb, I have summarized some "Yocom" marriages from Clay County, Indiana. One of my entries shows a Matilda Yocom, who married a William Kashatt, in Clay County, August 17, 1854. Hope this helps you. Many of the Yocum/Yocom folks came from Kentucky. Charles W. Posted on: Clay County, In Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/Clay?read=977 Surname: Rucker ------------------------- In going through old research notes of my deceased great aunt, stumbled upon a note about my grat grandfather, Edward Rucker whom we know little about. On the 1870 census he is living CYPO pg 148. We had no record of his actual date or place of death until this note that stated,"always heard Edward died in Cloverland in 1872-3". ( I think 1873 is more likely as his last child was born Oct, 1873) Are there cemetery records for Cloverland? Do the death records of Clay county go back to 1873? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I am looking for the Indiana marriage of Francis Perkins to Margaret Classick in 1853. I do not know the county, but there were a number of Classick's in Clay County in the 1850's and later. What occasionally happened is they just never got around to it. Just got busy with the farm or business similar to what happens to all of us from time to time. Sometimes they moved to a different area prior to becoming naturalized. But most often I would guess they had it done in a federal court. If this is the case then the records would reside in the nearest seat of the court. You might check with the Indiana genweb site and see if they have it listed. Terri
