He married a Beulah Maude Ellis, Feb 16, 1914. Herschel died single in a coal mine accident, and Joseph married Minnie (not sure if that is a first or middle name). Hope this helped. I would get a copy of your grandmother's death record which should have her parents name on it. Then you will have the correct spelling.

    3. Ava, Just picked up your message on the INCLAY-L. My gg-grandfather was also Lorenzo Dow Gilbert. His first wife, Temperance Slack, my gg-grandmother. There daughter, Margaret Jane m. John B. Sparks and their son, Alfred was my grandfather. Would love to know what information you have on Lorenzo. I know he remarried. In fact, I followed he and his 2nd wife, Emiline Diel, for a couple of years thinking she was my gg-grandmother. I know Lorenzo died before 1880 but have been unable to find out where or an exact date. From which child of Lorenzo's does your husband descend?
