LDS has put up the 1880 census with an every name search. It's a little tricky trying to source it since they do not provide ED and page number. However, you do get to look at the transcribed listing for the household and the page number they provide is the number listed on the upper right of the census sheet, so you can track it down. http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/default.asp It's very busy right now since everyone is trying it and making the server a bit slow, but it has been worth it for me since a lot of the people I am looking for are in the 1880 census, but do not have a child under the age of 10. Yes I have been on that list for a long time. Infact, in May we visited the Germanna Colony. They sure have a beautiful new building. We had dinner with Thom and really enjoyed our time in the area. Barbara
My gg aunt, Elizabeth Sinders daughter of Andrew Sinders and Mary Elizabeth Kirshner, married a Henry Price in Owen County, Indiana 3 mar 1888. My records indicate that they had 3 daughters Cora, Clara and Julia. Aren't you on the Germanna Colony subscribers list? Does anyone know where I might find records of criminal court cases in Clay Co. in 1909/1910? There's a case in that timeframe that I'm researching, and wasn't sure if the records are in archive somewhere other than the Clay Co. Courthouse, before I start calling there. The Indiana State Library has a wonderful collection of probate court records from that era, but no criminal court records that I've found so far. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

In 1896 my Gradfather would of been born to Sarah Jane Fiscus. In 1898 Bernice was born to Silas and Elizabeth. We know the names of his step brothers and sisters because when my Grandfather took his family back to Indiana they visited often. He assisted on the farm for his Mom (Sarah) during the harvest season. He also had two step brothers that they visted in Mount Vernon Ohio ( i found one of the grave sights). Weird but when I think I find a link and start to ask questions for some reason the older people shut up. I can understand some of it but My Mom is just looking for family. She received a card from a Naomi Limp in Indiana that said she was a cousin to my Grandfather. My Grandmother had died at that time. My Mom wrote her and told of her death, I wrote her several years later and asked questions on the Genealogy, but she had died. Her husband had written me that he know nothing and could not help me at all. If I run across any information on a Charles Jessup I will send you the information. Thank You so much.

My uncle Charles would have been born around 1920. I do know that his family came from the Brazil area. He married my aunt Edith Moore. (The Moore family that owns the funeral home are my cousins) They moved to Indianapolis at some point and that is where they were living when he died in 1993. I have no information on his parents or siblings at all. If only I had been into genealogy at the time that he died, I could have asked so many questions. :-) Melinda

It is said that his Father was Silas Jessup and his Mother's name was Sarah. I received his Social Security Papers and it shows his Mothers name as Sarah Fiscus and his Fathers name as Silas Jessup. We (my Mom and I) know his step-brothers and sisters and we have the names. But Silas was married to Elizabeth Smith at the time of my Grandfather's birth. My Mom remembers a picture of my Grandfather when he was a baby and it shows Sarah being married. We don't know if Fiscus was her maiden or married name. The only record I can find on a Sarah Fiscus being married in 1986 was to a Lewis Hinds. (August of 1896) I cannot find any marriage records of a Sarah to a Fiscus within that time frame. Feel like I am looking for a needle in a haystack on this and have been searching for years for anything. I do know that Sarah died in the 1950's in Indiana. I also, have no idea if my Grandfather was married a first time and my Grandmother was second. They were older when they were married. Charles Jessup joined the CC Corps and meet my Grandmother in PA.
