    3. Kaye, I'm a little confused by your last message; we found Margaret in 1880; that was the information I posted earlier from Daviess County. I have now found Laura there also. It's the same census as Margaret and Charles except she's on page 574D living with this family: John W. Sullivan Self 39 IN IN OH Confectioner Elizabeth Wife 24 IN KY IN Keeps House Abel T. Son 4 IN IN IN At Home Victoria McGhee Servant 19 VA VA VA Anna Hoback Servant 18 TN MD MD Samuel Sawyer Printer 30 IN KY KY John O'Brien Painter 22 IN Ire Ire Robert H Stucky Works in Wool Factory 23 IN IN PA (Note, this is a transcribed census and the relationship to the head of household is always shown as "Other" if there is no relationship other than something such as a live-in servant or a boarder. In the case of everyone above except the Sullivans; the relationship is "Other") BUT I did find, in the Indiana WPA Marriage Index, Laura Hoback md John Langhmiller Nov 28, 1880 Daviess County Bk 5, Pg 160 (Langhmiller being the interpreted spelling; not mine) I can't find John in the 1880 census. Charles Hoback, 30, son of Alfred and Margaret Summerton Hoback, md Martha Hoback Mar 8, 1889 Clay County; Bk C-23, Pg 276 and Bk 7, Pg 269. Martha's parents are shown as Samuel and Sarah (Hord) Hoback. Hope this helps, if I can do anything else, please email me directly at [email protected] . 2. Hello again Sharon: On the Hoback could you try Kentucky in the 1880 census and see if she is living with a daughter named Anna Laura and John Loughmiller. Laurel County was where most of Lauras children were born. One of the oldest daughter was Margaret born in 1882. I believe there is at least one child older then Margaret Loughmiller. Thank you. 2. I am looking for an Alfred Charles Hoback who was born in 1829 in Wythe Virginia. Wife's name is Margaretta Summerton/Sumerton born in Canada in 1833. Margaretta is buried in Clay County Indiana. She is still in the census in 1900 Clay County. I know they lived in Maine where the oldest son was born and Tennessee where a daughter was born abt 1860 and they lived in Kentucky and Indiana. Do not know when Alfred died or where. Take your time. He has been dead for a long time now. I would like the information of the house before them and after them and the names of the people if possable. Lots of times that is family too just with a different name. Again thank you Kaye

    3. Kay, I have the Family History Center (LDS) 1880 National Census. According to this, Margaret Hoback was already a widow in 1880: 1880, Washington, Daviess County, Indiana; T9-0271, Pg 518a: Margaret Hoback Self 42 Widow b. Sou Canada Fa: England Mo: Canada Charles Hoback Son 20 b. Maine fa: Virginia Mo: Canada Miner I also have the 1870 Indiana Census; there is no Margaret (or any form of the name), Alfred, or Charles Hoback listed. The family on one side of Margaret in 1880 is the John Cutar family; husband, wife and children all born in Switzerland. On the other side is George Brust Self 50 NJ -- -- Blacksmith Lizie Wife 30 IN Eng IN Sharon Collins Rapid City, SD ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2003 9:50 AM Subject: Re: [INCLAY] Let me re phrase this lookups 1850 Census INDIANA > I am looking for an Alfred Charles Hoback who was born in 1829 in Wythe > Virginia.
