Hi, Could any one tell me when the railroad was built. It was running in a straight line from Logansport, Indiana, towards the West, will cross the Wabash Valley Railroad at Middleport, the Chicago branch of the Illinois Central Railroad north of Onarga, the Alton and Chicago Railroad at Peoria Junction, and the main line of the Illinois Centeral Railroad south of Panola; then, pursuing a southwestern direction, terminate on the Illinois River, opposite Peoria. I'm trying to track down a ancestor who was working on the railroad. His name is John Miller b. abt 1831 Prussia. he was listed in the 1870 census Washington twp, Cass Co., IN, living with the couple listed below at the age of 39 as a R R Laborer. I found Wendell and his wife Caroline in the 1870 census. With this gentlemen John Miller living with them, and no one else. But I did not find this John Miller, living with them, in the 1880 census.. I do not know how he is related to my Wendell Miller. How do I go about finding more information on a person that was listed in the census with my family. Who is this John Miller? So, I'm hunting down information on the railroads that came through Cass County, around 1870. Good anyone tell me the names of the railroad that come through Logansport today. And if their names had been changed?
