I really appreciate everyone's suggestions on the death record lookup that I posted a query about a while back! My problem is that I live too far away from Logansport to go there easily myself and I was wondering if there was anyone who lived in the area who would be willing to look up Sarah PLATT and Ellen GOLDSBERRY's death records for me. I have their death dates and am interested now in finding their cause of death and if their parents names are listed on the death records, as well as whatever else might be on the record. Or if someone could tell me how much it would cost and how I would go about ordering them from the library or the health department. Thank you all so much for your help! Lena, Here is the obituary of Ellen Platt Goldsberry from the Galveston Leader. -Debby December 5, 1906 p4, c1 Ellen Platt, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Platt, was born May 27th 1820; after a lingering illness, departed this life Nov. 29th, 1906, aged 86 years, 6 months and 2 days. She was united in marriage to Isaac Goldsberry August 12th, 1838, who preceded her to the grave thirteen years ago. To this union nine children were born, five of which are living, two sons and three daughters. She was a member of the Christian church and had a pure moral character. She was a kind neighbor, a loving mother and an affectionate companion. She is survived by one brother, one sister, five children and a host of friends, who mourn her departure. Grandmother Goldsberry, as she was usually called, ha lived in this vicinity for many years and was well known. She lived to see her children married and settled down. It was a brave but unequal contest for life. But when the final summons came her spirit passed from earth as peacefully as the slumber of a babe. A precious one from us has gone, A voice we love is stilled; A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. God in his wisdom has recalled The boon his love had given; And thought the body slumbers here, The Soul is safe in heaven. --- Lena Carlson <gostraka@yahoo.com> wrote: > I really appreciate everyone's suggestions on the > death record lookup that I posted a query about a > while back!
