These are my surnames in Cass co. My grandmother, Amanda Phillips, was supposed to have been born in Mar 1885 in Walton to Frank Phillips and Mollie Bowyer. There is no record of Amanda's birth in Cass co. She may have fudged on the year and may have been older, born before the records started OR out of the county. I haven't found Frank and Mollie yet but the century is young... Amanda's first husband was Daniel M. Richeson b. about 1878, Lake Cicott, Cass co. I think he may be the child of James M. Richeson and Lydia [no proof]. By Daniel, she had Darwin Richeson, my mother's older half-brother, a really nice man, who lived most of his life in Kokomo [wife Thelma Davis]. The Richesons are not really blood kin, but because of Darwin I would like to know about his family. Daniel's obituary mentions another son Sam Richeson of Peru. It says that Daniel "as a small child was taken to Walton where he grew to manhood. He came to Kokomo and for 15 years was a clerk in the McCaffery grocery that was located on the south side of the public square. Later he took employment with the Mascari, now Minardo, wholesale fruit company as a salesman, a connection he maintained for 23 years." He was a member of the Eagles lodge. Burial was in the Walton Cemetery. This was from a clipping with no date. He doesn't show up in the SSDI. Paula Stewart
