    1. [INCASS] Report on Miami Co. Greenlawn Cemetery at Mexico work.
    2. Debby Beheler
    3. Becky Miller and I did a cemetery restoration demo at Greenlawn Cemetery at Mexico, Indiana for the Miami County Genealogy Society Wednesday evening. We had about 20 people and they were awesome. We showed them the techniques and they jumped in and got busy working. I think all together they dug up at least 5 fallen and sunken markers and reset at least 1 or 2. The cemetery is still active, however, the original part of the cemetery was started by the Church of the Brethren. The cemetery board is going to be making new bases for at least 3 tombstones that were dug up. We cleaned poultice off of 2 stones that I did ahead of time and applied poultice to at least 3 others. And 2 of the stones were drilled, pegged and epoxied. One of those had its base leveled before it could be repaired. We started at 6 p.m. and left the cemetery for our carry-in dinner about 8:15. It is amazing what can be done by willing volunteers in barely over 2 hours. It was great to have so much enthusiastic help and the dinner was delicious, too. Sharon and Don Linn provided a nice air conditioned pole building with cold soft drinks for the dinner that followed. Also, Sharon Linn, MCGS member keeps the records for the cemetery which is still active. Some of the older burials have records, such as "baby," "old man," "occupied." Some of the stones we worked on were not listed in the record book, so the records are being updated and made more complete. 1. [INCASS] US Railroad Retirement Board
    2. Is the same as given earlier. Some additional information that was given to me by the person who sent this to me was: Her ancestor applied for retirement benefits even though his work history was sparatic and she received a monthly summary of his employment from about 1906 through 1958, information about his 3 marriages, and some non rr related work history. She was able to track him across the US and even have a possible "alias" to check out. Web site for the Railroad Retirement Board...check out regional office addresses to find one closest to your ancestor's location and then write a snail mail and they will check for his employee records. The research fee is non refundable. US Railroad Retirement Board 844 North Rush St. Chicago, Illinois 60611-2092 My area of research is before 1935, and I wrote to the Railroad in which my ancestor was employed. They had no records prior to 1935, the reason being is that is when Social Security started, and that is when they started to keep records. So I am hoping to find out through the Retirement Board, hopefully more info. Hope this helps. Otherwise, I would write to the Historical Society and see what records they have on your ancestor. 3. Connie I do not think that any railroad will have information concerning employees that worked for them in the time period that you have an interest in. I have no idea where that information might be found. 2. There is an address for Employees of Railroads. It's not on my hard drive, so printed it. Right now, I am in the process of filing my stacks. I will make a note of this and as soon as I find it, will post. I also have to do some research in this area, but not in Indiana. If I can't find it right off, I will get it from the list that I originally got it from. Hang in there! Jean Hehn
