I have been on this list for a few weeks and have seen very little posted to this list. Could some of the 127 or so members of this list mentioned in the last couple of weeks post some family info so those of us just joining can see who is researching which names. Thank you Sharon M. Bledsoe
OK..... Looking for any and all decendants of William and Nancy Asher McNary Moss Crockett. William/Nancy moved to Carroll County in 1830. Died in 1858 in Cass County. One son was Asher Crockett (my great-great grandfather), born in Montgomery County, Ohio July 1820, died 1896, buried in Galveston Cemetary. Supposedly, William and Nancy and a few other relatives are buried on the Crockett homestead west of Deer Creek on 218 in Carroll County. However, the property owners will not let anyone walk the property. Arg! - David D. Anyone with additional information about the ancestors and descendants of this Solomon Conn? My notes say: Solomon enlisted in the 87th Indiana Regiment of Infantry on July 26, 1862, and served until June, 1865. He had a musket shot from his hands in the charge of the 87th on Missionary Ridge near Chattanooga, Tennessee. He had a serious bout with typhoid fever after that battle, but suffered no wounds throughout the war. Solomon attended the Conn Family Reunion in the spring (year??) and fell ill while visiting with his sister Drucellia. (Drucellia "True" Conn b. 1845 married Charless Budd. This about some grave stones found in the Whitewater River in Fayett Co. Indiana. Anyone familiar with the lines of McMillen living Cass area in 1850's??? I have documented marriage between Isaac McMillen and Rebecca Shuey in 1857. Can't find a home for Isaac, said to be born in PA (abt 1832). Some history of the resident McMillen's of the time could help me eliminate possibilities if anyone has access to biographical histories of them. Thanks for any help. Hello, There is an old part to the St.John's cemetery that is called the Old Sheidler Cemetery (not the one currently used). Does anyone know more about the old Sheidler cemetery. One of the residents there back in 1830's, I think, donated or sold land for it. I have people buried there whose headstones would be exceptionally old and might be missing. Any information on them. Please advise. Nancie in Texas raggdollynmb@yahoo.com
There are 123 subscribers to INCASS-L and 24 subscribers to INCASS-D. The list is somewhat quiet at times. I added WPA marriages input by list member and volunteer Aaron Thomas today. http://www.rootsweb.com/~incass/mindex.html The new additions start with the letter P (Po-Py). Thanks, Aaron!
