    1. Re: Fw: [INCASS] Lois Eldridge
    2. Ellen and Debby. Thanks for the information on Lois Eldridge. Ellen, if you could find her obit it would be great. Please make a copy of it and I will pay you for it. I think she had the Bert Steele Bible and I am trying to find it. I am hoping she had nieces and nephew that might have it now. Also I would like to know her parents--so I can link her to the Steele family. Please e-mail me when you find the obit and I will send you my snail mail address.' Thanks Joanne in Oregon

    3. Hi list, In two weeks, my dad and I are going to the Allen County Public Library in Ft. Wayne, IN - the second largest place for genealogy records in the U.S. Just to let you know I will take requests to do a lookup for either census, death index, birth index, or marriage index. I will, however, request a contribution to defray costs of copies and postage. Thanks, Monica M.Leath@verizon.net

    3. Monica, How gracious of you to offer lookups. If by chance there is a film of the 1870 census would you please check for a John Ewald and a Lorenz/Lawrence Radke? I certainly appreciate your kindness and am more than willing to compensate you for any costs. Thank you, Alice Kam kamalot@worldnet.att.net

    3. Joanne & Debbie: I can go to the library next week and look for the obituary. I remember Lois, because she was one of my teachers at Logansport High School. I do remember seeing the obit in the newspaper. We haven't got the 2000 Obituary Book printed yet. Since you have the death date as Jan 16, 2000 it will not be hard to find. I can send a copy or printed it on your website. Just let me know. 1. Re: [INCASS] CONN
    2. Francine: I have in my data base the following Conn family: George Milton (b. 8-1851; d. 1926) married Lydia Ann Allen (b. 11-1852; d. 8-3-1936) on March 22, 1876 in Cass County. Their children were: 1. Carrie Edith b. 4 1880 2. George W. Conn b. 4-13-1884; d. 10-13-1990 3. Howard Easton b. 4 1885 4. Angela E. b. 11 1888 5. Mattie Elinor b. 8-1889 Do these Conns match with any in your data. Hope to hear from you. Linda

    1. Re: [INCASS] CASS COUNTY SURNAMES:TILTON, JAMISON,
    2. Sandy: I was glad to hear from you. Yes, John Tilton is the son of my third great grandfather Ira Stout Tilton. John's brother Nathaniel Tilton was my second great grandfather. I would like to exchange information with you. I show the children of John and Sarah (McDowell) Tilton to be: 1. Nancy J. b. abt. 1837 2. Mary Ellen b. 1839; christened in Dalton Presbyterian Church on March 17, 1839 3. Elizabeth b. abt. 1840 4. Robert b. abt. 1842 5. Ira b. abt. 1844 6. Sabina b. abt. 1848 7. Maria b. abt. 1853 8. Nathaniel b. abt. 1856 Does this match with what you have on their children? I am also interested in the McDowell side because I am trying to trace as many descendants of John and Maria (Sutphen) Tilton as I can. John and Maria Tilton were the grandparents of the John who married Sarah McDowell. One of John and Maria Tilton's daughters married Nathaniel McDowell, who I believe might have been a brother of your husband great aunt Sarah (McDowell) Tilton. Do you have anything about her siblings? I have some information about John Tilton's siblings if you are interested. Hope to hear from you. Linda

    1. Re: [INCASS] Question for everyone
    2. Marylin Benfield
    3. Charlotte suggested I give you the names I'm looking for so I will in hopes that someone else is working on this family. Thus far postings on surname lists on these families have warranted no results. Emma R. Walters died at age 70 on 6 June 1919 in Logansport (CH-5, page 68 death record reference). What I'm really looking for is who her parents are to see if she's a sister to my ancestor. I believe her maiden name may have been McAdams. There is an A.C. Walters who died 12 June 1918 in Logansport (CH-5, page 35 death record reference) who I believe is her husband. I'd also be interested in knowing where they're buried. I have written Cass Co. many times for records on this and other lines (and they have been very responsive) but because this is so speculative, I'd rather try to do some preliminary checking before I send money for a copy of the death record. If anyone knows anything or knows someone who would check for obits or has access to Cass Co. cemetery records or knows someone who will check out the death record info for parents and spouse, I'd sure appreciate. Thanks all Marylin ----- Original Message ----- From: "Flock's" <flocks4@junct.com> To: <INCASS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 08, 2001 9:32 AM Subject: Re: [INCASS] Question for everyone > Marylin, > Maybe you could give us the surnames you are looking for, maybe there is someone out there looking on the same line you are. > I'm sorry I do not live in Logansport.
