Jeanette Richart pointed me to a website: http://www.dlib.indiana.edu/collections/lilly/hohenberger/index.html which has a photograph of the Nashville Jail [THANKS, Jeanette] and the photograph appears to be the same jail. The photo I have is a 5 X 7 image on an 8 X 10 dark dull greenish cardboard back with rounded corners. The border is impressed with: J.E. A.B. Whitaker Nashville IND Unfortunately the image is faded in parts, as if something was spilled on it, but the details of the image are still there. It shows four men standing along the steps, and a man in front of the building with his arm on some sort of cane or farm implement. There are small trees and a rail fence in the background, and part of the fence seems to be incomplete.
