    3. Ron sorry to report that if you didn't find documentation other than an obit. that may be the only documentation there will be. I have tried to keep track of the Deckard Cemetery in Brown County and there are not much in records other than if you are lucky to find funeral home records. Most of the older cemeteries just don't have records. Even Clear Creek Cemetery in Monroe County which is very active does not have good records for the oldest section. I was lucky enough at the Deckard Cemetery to find some people who actually dug the graves for some of the people, so if there was no marker, they knew who the person was. If it isn't in the Brown County Cemetery Book or not enough proof in the obit, you may not find better information. I will try to check and see if Bear Creek has a cemetery association, but even that may not prove helpful for finding a burial. Sorry to be so negative, but that is just the way things happen. Just recently a group of people from the Deckard Cemetery donated and put up a grave stone for a dear friend. He had been without one for over 12 years.
