Posted on: Brown County, IN Obituaries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/BrownObits?read=19 Surname: Hopper, Ogden, Crays, Taggart, Sipe ------------------------- Obituary, (Reeve, Helen) Brown County, Indiana, Obituaries, Vol. I, (dated May 19, 1938): "Mrs. Estella Hopper, wife of Mart Hopper, died in the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis last Thursday, May 12, following an illness of several weeks of pneumonia. Mrs. Hopper was born May 11, 1874. After uniting in marriage with Mr. Hopper, the couple made their home and reared their family in Nashville, living in the property that is now owned by the Nashville-Brown County Library. The Hopper family was one of the most prominent families of the town and county. They moved to Indianapolis about the year 1918, where they have since made their home. Besides the husband, Mrs. Hopper is survived by the following children: Rex Hopper, Austin, Texas; Frank H. Hopper, Boston, Mass; Myron Hopper, St. Louis; Ira William Hopper, San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Etta Ogden, Wooster, Ohio; and Mrs. Iris Crays, Rockville, Indiana. She is also survived by one brother, Ira Taggart, of Tampa, Florida, and ten grandchildren. Private funeral services were held last Saturday at the Montgomery Funeral Home in Indianapolis with Rev. William F. Rothenburger of the Third Christian Church officiating. Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Hopper was a very active member of the Third Christian Church." Estella, born in Nashville, was the daughter of Franklin P. Taggart and Martha Ellen Sipe. She was married 9-5-1895 and had 8 children.
