North of Lake Lemon. I grew up on a farm in the 60's that was about 5 miles away. I never visited Melody Hill, but by the time I was a teen I remember hearing It was in bad repair and the animals were starving. Rumers were that some of the animals had been turned loose in the neighboring Morgan / Monroe State Forrest to fend for themselves and among them was the bear that you spoke of. I spent lots of time in the State Forrest hunting and riding motorcycles, and never did see any of the zoo animals (although I always felt uneasy wondering about the bear). Chris Chafin
