They are, I believe, the parents Of John M. FERGUSON/FORGSON of Bartholomew County In. John M. had them both listed as his parents in second 1931 marriage application in Bartholomew County. She was from Brown County. He was from Kentucky. She may have married John RADER in 1860 Bartholomew County.An Elizabeth FERGISON and John RADER were married in 1860. Who is her family? I was a custom home builder, till a rare genetic blood ailment made me mostly disabled. I live here with my wife and daughter, and the usual assortment of dogs and cat. North of Lake Lemon. I grew up on a farm in the 60's that was about 5 miles away. I never visited Melody Hill, but by the time I was a teen I remember hearing It was in bad repair and the animals were starving. Rumers were that some of the animals had been turned loose in the neighboring Morgan / Monroe State Forrest to fend for themselves and among them was the bear that you spoke of. I spent lots of time in the State Forrest hunting and riding motorcycles, and never did see any of the zoo animals (although I always felt uneasy wondering about the bear). Chris Chafin
