There were more than one James M. and more than one James W. so don't get them mixed up.
Does anyone have the death date of Malinda Hanson Hall? She was born ca. 1820 and was the second wife of Jesse Hall. She possibly married William Weatherman as her second husband 26 May 1864 in Monroe Co IN. She may possibly be buried in Gilgal Cemetery in Monroe Co, IN. Can anyone help with her death date and burial place? Thanks. Helen Whannel

Brownstown is in Jackson county. For birth records write to the Health Dept in Jackson Co., IN. Birth records start in 1882. You might check the USGenWEB site for Jackson Co for the address, Marriage records may be found in the Clerk's Office. Does anyone out there have the addresses? Sarah Clevenger [email protected] wrote: > > I would like to get to find out how to purchase marriage licenses and birth > certificates for people born in Brownstown, could you please help me. Thanks
Sarah, Thank You for this information. I have been ordering marriage certificates from them. They charge me $2.00 per copy which is less than anywhere else that Ive ordered from. However I didnt know that you could get a copy of the original application. Some that I have gotten back have had birthplaces on them though. But none with the parents names yet. Thanks for this info. Laura Sarah Clevenger wrote: > After 1882 Indiana started collecting information on a marriage application for > people getting a licens. After 1882 Indiana started collecting information on a marriage application for people getting a licens. You can write to the Clerk of the Court, Court House, Nashville, IN 47448 and ask for a copy of the marriage APPLICATION. It will be in a book different from the book that has the license. If you want to call to find out the fees, the number is 812-988-5510. The record should give the names of the parents and where they were born. There will be a $2 copying fee since the record runs clear across two pages, but I don't know what the search fee is. Hope this helps, Sarah Clevenger Larry&Laura wright wrote: > > Hi, I am looking for information on MARY GEORGIAN PAINTER, she married > HARRISON MILLER WRIGHT in Brown County Indiana, Dec 11, 1897, they were > divorced around 1907-1912 she then married Edwin Baxter, she died in > Bartholomew county Indiana in 1968.
