Born Feb.12,1901, the daughter of Charles and Emma Mathis Hampton and was a native of Brown County. She is survived by her husband Elmer,and by her children; Mrs. Velma Ayers of Bloomington, Mrs. Edna Vasko, Mrs. Louise Reel, Mrs. Lucille Kincade,and Mrs. Cecil Penner all of Indianapolis; Virgil and Vernon of Bloomington, and one sister Mrs. Dorothy Lyons, 29 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be Friday at Day Mortuary, with the Rev. L.D. Axsom officiating. Burial will be at Knightridge Cemetery, Monroe County.

I believe the son CYRUS ABBY to be my ggg grandfather but have yet to prove this. My Cyrus Abbey(ABBY) later lived in Gibson Co IND where he married Sarah Jane Pollard on 20 Feb 1867, they later moved to White Co ILL. The Green I have was born 1835. His parents were Caleb Story of Rowan Co., NC, DOB 1787, and Rebecca Sain, DOB c1790. They had a total of 14 children and Green is #7. Green Story m. Nancy Woodlander and Green died in 1897. My info is from Jack Story (internet) at [email protected] and Parents' names from Mormon ancestry file, and other info from Pioneer Ancestors of Members of the Society of Indiana Pioneers. Don't know for sure if this has anything to do w/your Green Story line, but if so, email me at [email protected] and I'll give you the other sibling's names, marriages, etc.

One is Iowa Narriages and the other is Indiana Birth Records. The source of the Birth Records are the transctriptions made by the WPA and some (about 8 or 10 as I remember) counties are omitted, such as Brown County, etc. However, there is still a lot of information there.
