Their children were: William, John Nelson, Hannah (Jackson), Robert J., Nancy Elizabeth, & possibly Hugh. They were in Monroe Co. from 1840 to the 1850's. They seem to have disappeared after the 1870 census was taken. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Keith Johnston Lubbock, TX

    3. Posted on: Brown County In. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/Brown/776 Surname: Brummet, Brummett, Prosser ------------------------- I've been told that George Grancer Brummett died in Brown Co. Indiana in Nov 6, 1872, the date reported in his pension record and reported by a Morgan Co. newspaper within a month of his death. I haven't seen either the pension record or the newspaper, but the information came from a good researcher. George's birth date would have been about 1780 based on census records of 1850 and earlier. Based on the 1870 census, pension records (war of 1812), and a bounty land application, his birth date is more like 1770. The 1780 date has had the widest circulation, but some of us believe the 1770 date is more accurate. With the earlier date, he would have lived to 101 yrs old, rather than 111. His oldest daughter, Esther (Easter) Brummett, b. 1804 in Tennessee, was my GGgrandmother. She doesn't show up in many lists of George's children. Don Zimmerman

    3. Posted on: Brown County In. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/Brown/770 Surname: Hoover ------------------------- I have found nothing further on the family of my John Hoover and wife Nancy Followell Hoover. I do know that their son John Hoover never moved to Estill Co, KY but moved to Lawrence Co, AR and died there. I have no information on a John Andrew Jackson Hoover. By the way, there ARE records in Brown Co, IN that go far beyond 1880. I copied marriage licenses from the marriage books at the county court house in Nashville, IN in 1985 for the era 1836 to 1855. There were more but I had no interest in them at that time. I also copied a will and distribution of an estate for about 1844 of William Followell, my gg grandfather. There were also land records available of which I made some copies of land that my family owned. So unless they have been destroyed since 1985, they DO exist. Henry Hoover
