Some of what you mentioned connects with my great grandmothers family. Her name was Addie Jane Hutchison. She was born 29 Sept 1871 in Nashville, Brown County, Indiana. Her marriage license (Logansport, Cass County, Indiana 15 Feb 1888) indicates her father is William S. Hutchison. Her death record from Cass County indicated that her father was William Hutchison and her mother was Mahala Hicks. I think the "Hicks" is wrong. I believe the family in Henry County, New Castle, Indiana in the 1880 census is my great grandmother's family. Anything you can tell me will help with my search of my Hutchison ancestors. Thanks.

Mahala Followell was the sister to my gg-grandfather Meridith. There were 7 kids in this family plus the mom and dad and all of their names started with a "M". I have been working on the Followell family for over 30 years. On the Family Tree Maker user home pages look for "The descendants of John Followell" and you will find a lot of info. I have found the family name spelled 10 different ways, but my granny who was born in 1875 liked to spell it Followwell.
I am seeking info on the family of G.B. or G.M. Richards and wife Pernetta. IN 1860 they had three sons living in their household whose names were William A., Levi P. and Manuel W. They lived in the township of Jackson, Brown Co., IN. In 1880 they still lived in Brown Co. and had a larger family at that time. Still in Jackson, Brown Co., IN in 1880. G. M. I know Robert W Smith was born 7/4/1843 in Virginia and that Violet Brown was born in 1843. I found Robert Smith's death record which told his father was Elijah M. Smith. Because of grave markers, I know all of their dates of birth and death. However, I could not find Violet's death record and so I have no idea who her parents were or where she was from. I also have no idea who Robert's mother was or where she was from.

And there is a mix of descendants of both families in Shiloh Cem. The Brown Co Cem book compiled by Helen & Kenneth Reeve does a very good job of identifying which family each one comes from. Thomas Andrew who married Mary O'Neal (they came to Brown Co from Jackson Co about 1838) was my 3rd great-grandfather, and I have a great deal of information on his familiy as does a distant cousin of mine. So far as either of us knows there is no connection whatsoever between the two Thomas Browns. The "Sandy" M Brown that you mention is Alexander Martin Brown, son of Thomas and Susannah McKinney. I was not aware of the court case you mentioned involving Sandy and Elisha (son of my Thomas). Copies can be obtained from the Brown Co Historical Society where those documents are carefully filed and maintained. If you should happen to get those copies I'd be interested in having a copy also and will gladly pay for them.

Surnames: Brown McKinney O'Neal Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Jh.2ADI/1313 Message Board Post: Two Brown families are buried in Mt. Zion cemetery. One is the Thomas A. Brown and Susanna McKinney family. The others are supposedly the descendants of another Thomas A. Brown and wife Mary O'Neal. I found that the government prosecuted a case against Joseph H. Powell, Elisha Brown, and Sandy M. Brown in 1879. I found this in an index and no nothing else about the case. Elisha Brown (b. 1840) was the son of the Thomas A. Brown and Mary O'Neal. Sandy (b. 1829) was the son of the other Thomas and Susanna McKinney. I know that the two Thomas A. Browns were not the same man. Thomas and Susanna are buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery and the other Thomas and wife are supposedly buried in Shiloh Cemetery. I find it interesting that Elisha and Sandy were associated in a court case. Might there be a family connection between the two Thomas Browns? I know about the family of Thomas married to Susanna -- I know his father and have a suspected grandfather's name. Does anyone know ! about the other Thomas' family? Would anyone want to look up the court case (Box 94 file 7) in county records?
