    3. Not only will there be a record of commitment at the local level, but there will also be one at the state level. For the state record, contact the Indiana State Archives. Records of Central State hospital and other state hospitals are available in paper and web formats. You may want to contact me privately about help at the Archives, where staff is very depleted due to the state hiring freeze. I volunteer at the Archives a few times a month, and I can say that each skilled employee there tries to accomplish the jobs of 3 or 4 people. The Archives has a website with the address on E 30th St, the "temporary" location. It had better be temporary: the roof leaked, and there was a big puddle in the middle of the processing room floor yesterday. What a marvelous exhibit for yesterday's Open House. We volunteers are just grateful the leak did not ruin any of the many original documents being processed in that room for use by the public.
