BOLLINGER Mary d. before 1880, m. John Byroad JR who was b. 1803 in PA, They had 8/9 sons, no daughters, all b. in Darke County, Ohio. They moved to Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana where they signed a land deed in 1877. She and John are in the 1870 Illinois census, but she is not on the 1880 Indiana census and John is listed as a widower. Who are her parents and siblings and what happened to her, where is she burried and where did she die? Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, or Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana? I am desperately wanting to find her. She is my GGGGrandmother. Is she in fact the Mary Byroad who is burried in the old Cedar Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana? My gut tells me she is. The Mary Byroad burried there was burried around the time of the last burrials in that now closed cemetery, my GGGGrandmother died around that time frame. There are still over 500 people still burried there. All but one are now their descendant's brick walls. Can anyone help me find my GGGGrandmother Mary Bollinger Byroad? I will be forever grateful. Have you checked with the city of Lebanon Library or even the courthouse. If you cannot visit in person send a letter and a sase and they will answer. I found them to be very helpful. char . I really need to get over to Lebanon to the Library there and do some research. I once asked the list if there was a way I could get tinto the library on my scooter and I never got an answer. Guess I will just have to go over and try and if I can't then try to make it in there without it. A Byroad cousin told me she thinks that GGGGrandma Mary went insane and was put into an old folks home in Indianapolis sometime after 1877 and was there until she died. She says there should be a court order having her committed there. Would the Court House have records from that time, or would I be able to find that information at the Library there? Would the court order state where she was sent and would they still be there and still have her records? What kind of proof would I have to have in regards to my relationship to her? Her son Enos Byroad was my GGGrandfather and his son Thomas Neal was my GGrandfather, his daughter Pansy was my Grandmother and her daughter Sarah was my Mother. I do have Grandma's Birth cert, but was told at the Health Department in Lebanon that Mom did not have one. I find that hard to believe as her 2 brothers and 2 sisters had one and 3 were born before her and the other one born after her. I just don't think they wanted to look for it as the one lady there was giving me a hard time getting Grandma's. Sure hope she is not there when I go back to get the others. Haha.
