No Charles family in Boone in 1830 or 40census. There are a lot of Charles families from Wayne Co.,In. Also in 1840 there is a David in Rush Co. A lot of people were in Rush and then came to Boone Co..There is a Joseph W. Farrow 1840 in Boone Co. and there is Francis S,George and James Wall in 1840 Boone. Perhaps wherever the Walls or Farrows moved on to the parents migrated also. In a will of Curry Constantine of Thorntown it lists a G.F Charles as a granddaughter.Will made 1877. There is a death listed for a Jacob T. Charles 55 May 7,1907 Boone Co. R-20 36(book and page in death records) You might write for this.The P.H. Sullivan Museum and genealogy Library ,225 W. Hawthorne St.,Zionsville,In 46077. They have card files with info extracted from newspapers and possibly a book with early marriage bonns. Tell them about the Jacob above and see if they have an obituary listed in the newspaper. I have had a lot of luck with them .
