Does anyone have any more info on a Barton Stone Higgins or his brother William L Higgins? Their mother, Avalena married James H Pinnell in Boone in 1857. Who was their father and where in IN did they live before coming to Boone Co.? Barton was born abt 1849 died 1916 Boone Co;William L born 1852 IN died 1914.Both buried Boone Co Oak Hill Cemetery. I've finally gotten around to knocking together a web page of all the stones I could find and photograph a couple Octobers ago at the Porter cemetery west of Jamestown. (Well, since I was working alone I may have accidentally skipped one, but if so it wasn't intentional.) About a three-quarters of the stones in the listing that's been around for several years are pictured. In addition, seven stones not in the original listing have been transcribed and pictured. Judging from the placement of remaining stones and sunken areas of ground, I would bet that there are additional stones that have fallen and sunk into the sod.
